Only the snacks that meet our standard make it in.
WellKind Provisions provides and stocks vending machines with snacks and drinks screened against a defined nutrition and ingredient standard — reviewed line by line, category by category, before anything ever reaches the shelf.
Started by a mom who wanted better options nearby.
WellKind Provisions started with a simple observation: the vending machines in our own community — the break room, the schools, the spot after practice — were stocked with the same tired, over-processed options. Better choices existed. They just weren't showing up in the machine.
We're a woman-owned company, built by a mother of four who got tired of choosing between convenience and actually feeling good about what her family ate. That's the standard every product has to clear before it goes in a WellKind machine — the one she'd want for her own kids.
- The name is the whole idea, really: eating well — food that actually nourishes you, chosen on purpose — and doing it in a way that's kind, to the people reaching for it and the communities we get to serve.
A defined nutrition standard, applied before anything ships.
We read the nutrition facts panel, the ingredients list, and the serving size — not just the front of the package. Here's what a snack has to clear.
Curation Facts
Typical snack thresholds — beverages reviewed separately
0–150 for beverages, depending on product type and intended use.
Target of 5g or less for many items; above 12g is typically excluded.
Tighter limits preferred where possible; very high-sodium items are screened out.
Higher-protein items prioritized for performance and workplace settings.
Especially in bars, granola, and savory snacks, to support satiety.
Serving and package size reviewed so labeling isn't misleading.
We weigh everything together, not one metric at a time
A snack that's low-calorie but high-sugar, or low-sugar but very high-sodium, can still be rejected. We compare calorie density against nutritional payoff — a 220-calorie item with real protein and fiber often beats a 140-calorie item built on refined starch.
Ingredients matter as much as the numbers
We favor recognizable ingredients — nuts, seeds, oats, dairy, fruit, legumes — and avoid artificial dyes and high fructose corn syrup wherever there's a better option. A product's health claim has to hold up against its ingredient deck, not just its marketing.
We keep reviewing after a product is stocked
We track what people actually buy, keep what performs and still meets the standard, and swap out what doesn't — using real purchase behavior to improve variety without loosening the discipline.
Different products, evaluated on their own terms.
We apply a category-aware review, so a nut pack isn't judged by the same lens as a hydration drink — even though both meet the same underlying discipline.
| Category | Calorie target | Sugar / sodium lens | What we prioritize |
|---|---|---|---|
| Snack bars | 150–250 | Lower added sugar; moderate sodium | Protein, fiber, portion control |
| Savory snacks | 120–220 | Lower sodium; no excessive additives | Crunch, satiety, cleaner ingredients |
| Nuts & trail mix | 150–250 | Low added sugar; sodium in controlled range | Healthy fats, protein, simple ingredients |
| Hydration & functional drinks | 0–80 | Minimal added sugar; sodium only where functional | Hydration, electrolytes, cleaner formulations |
| Protein beverages | 100–180 | Controlled sugar and sodium | Protein density, convenience, satiety |
The right mix depends on who's reaching for it.
Same discipline, different emphasis — we adjust the selection to the audience without loosening the standard.
Youth & education
Stricter sugar, calorie, and caffeine screening for younger audiences, with age-appropriate portions front and center.
Performance settings
More protein-forward and hydration-support products for gyms, studios, and athletic facilities.
Offices & healthcare
A wider range of balanced snacks, chosen for strong ingredient quality and honest portion control.
The mix keeps earning its place.
Keep what works
Products that sell well and still meet the standard stay on the shelf.
Remove what doesn't
Underperforming items are swapped for stronger alternatives — not just restocked out of habit.
Let real behavior lead
We use actual purchase data to widen variety without ever loosening nutritional discipline.
